Our Commitments

MATTHEW 28:16-20

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

Christ’s Great Commission outlines some of the key commitments of our congregation. Here are a few words and phrases from these verses that drive our commitments.

MAKE DISCIPLES: A disciple is a follower of Jesus.  We are committed to become a church where everyonAllene is on a journey with Jesus and everyone is making disciples.

ALL NATIONS: We are committed to reflecting the worship of heaven where every people group worships God.  This means everyone is welcome at our church and everyone is needed at our church.   We love the fact that our congregation is diverse ethnically and socio-economically and we want to continue to grow in this area!

BAPTIZING: We are committed to transformation. Baptism is a picture of transformation to new life in Christ.  It is our desire that everyone who walks through our doors is saved from the darkness of sin and is transformed and restored to light and life in Jesus Christ!  Further, we believe that as people come to a saving knowledge of Christ they will work for the transformation and restoration of our city as well.  This is why we are committed to ministering at our current location in the urban core of Lockport.

TEACHING TO OBEY: We are committed to helping everyone follow The Way, Christ’s way in the world.

I AM WITH YOU: We are committed experiencing God’s powerful presence in our lives and our weekly gathering while helping others do the same.
