As you are aware Paul Calkins, our Elder overseeing finances, introduced our new capital campaign two weeks ago. We are calling this campaign “Building God’s House,” because that is what we are committed to doing!

The name is taken from Ephesians 2:19-24 which states:
“Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.”

From these verses we learn the God’s house is not built of bricks, wood, and stone. We are His house, those who have place their faith in Jesus Christ! And His house grows as lives, like Joey’s, are added to the faith!

That being said, in our culture we need a meeting place to continue to equip you for ministry out there, and which can house many of the ministries we participate in together. When I think of all the ministry that takes place in this builBuilding Campaign 400ding during the week, I am truly dumbfounded.

To continue
our ministry in this community and help it to grow we need to address a few of our building concerns. These include the following:

  1. A new boiler–ours is on its last leg!
  2. Roof repair–if you look at the ceiling of our Celebration Center you will see stain on stage right.
  3. Seal the walls of our Family Life Center. If you look closely you sill see a crystalline formation on the walls from water that h
    as seeped through the block.
  4. Elevator repair.
  5. Fire alarm alarm system update.
  6. Security camera installation
  7. Air Conditioning for our Celebration Center. Remember how hot it get in the summer?

Our goal is to raise $85,000 over the next two years.

That may sound like a lot of money, but if all of us committed to give an extra $4.09 cents a week we could raise all the money that is needed!! That is the cost of 1 large cup Tim Horton’s coffee a week! Most of us can afford that. And many of us can afford much more.

Please pray about what God would have you give to make all of these building repairs and updates possible.

Over the course of the next 2 years, Paula and I (Pastor Dave) pledge to give $1600 to $2000 over and above our tithes to the building campaign.

When God lays a number on your heart, please consider automating your gift. I don’t know about you, but I automate what is important.
